Gulnara Roll is Chief of the Sectoral Transition Section in the Climate Change Division’s Mitigation Branch at the United Nations Environment Programme, where she leads activities supporting national and subnational governments in their climate mitigation and adaptation efforts, with a focus on sectoral strategies for buildings, cooling, energy, and food waste reduction. She also serves as Head of Secretariat for the Global Alliance for Buildings and Construction, hosted by UNEP, and as Co-Chair of the Steering Committee for the UNEP-led Cool Coalition.
